SEWNY General Membership Meeting
Greetings Simulation Educators and Operations Specialists,
It has been a few months since we all saw each other either online or at the 2023 Simulation Summit. The Board members have been meeting and have proposed a date for a general membership meeting. We have scheduled the meeting for Thursday, May 2,2024 from 3:00 - 4:00 PM. We are aware that every school’s teaching schedules are different but we hope this meets with most of the member’s availability.
Below is the proposed agenda for the meeting. Please feel free to send me any items you would like to add to the agenda. We also have a couple of nursing schools that were not aware of SEWNY and would like to be included. Let us know if there are others you know of and I will add them to our membership list.
Please let us know if you know of anyone that may be interested and we will add them to the group email.
We hope your semester has gone well,
Your Board members: Maria Bajwa, John McIntyre, Jennifer Zugnoni, Patti Reuther, Erin Baylor, Kim Buholtz

Discussion surrounding setting a routine meeting time/day each month. Using “when2meet” might be easier than a doodle poll. Google Forms would be another possible option.
Experiential Learning Sumit at University of Rochester June 6th, 7th. Registration is open see link below.
SEWNY is LLC right now. The last treasurer closed out the organization, which required setting the SEWNY organization back up. Due to time constraints with setting it up as a non-profit, the option was to go LLC. Future: switch over to education non-profit.
Should we implement bylaws based on the organization rules

U of R school of nursing is apart of an Acsend grant - project developed through the behavioral and developmental pediatric program and has expanded to adult specialty as well. Education for nurses who work with patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There is a didactic portion and then a three different simulations Kim and Erin Baylor created. There’s a goal to share the ideas with other institutions as well in the future
U of R also had an NP program interprofessional sim on sexual health counseling

Ruth Ann mentioned we can discuss different product we each use for sim such as printing drug labels
